Politie beschoten na betreden woning
[Maastricht | 27 maart 2025] De politie heeft vanochtend rond 06:15 uur twee personen aangehouden na het betreden van een woning aan het Sint Servaasbolwerk in het centrum van Maastricht net over de grens met deelbuurt Blauwdorp in Mariaberg. Het zou gaan om een Duitse man (28 jaar) en zijn vriendin.
De actie maakt deel uit van een lopend rechercheonderzoek. Waar het onderzoek over gaat wil de politie niet zeggen. Tijdens het betreden van de woning werd de potlie beschoten. Een agent raakte daarbij lichtgewond en is naar het ziekenhuis gebracht voor onderzoek. De straat is afgezet met linten.
De inval zou te maken hebben met onderzoek naar een internationale drugszaak volgens De Limburger. Naast de Duitser zouden nog 12 mensen zijn opgepakt. L1 Nieuws meldt dat het kogelwerende vest mogelijk het leven van de agent heeft gered.
Police shot after entering residence
[Maastricht | March 27, 2025] Police arrested two people this morning around 06:15 am after entering a residence at Sint Servaasbolwerk in the center of Maastricht just across the border with sub-district Blauwdorp of the Mariaberg neighborhood. It is said to be a German man (28 years old) and his girlfriend.
The action is part of an ongoing criminal investigation. What the investigation is about, police would not say. While entering the residence the police were fired upon. A police officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for examination. De area is cordoned off by police.
The raid is supposed to be related to investigations into an international drug case, according to newspaper De Limburger. In addition to the German, 12 other people were reportedly arrested. L1 Nieuws reports that the bulletproof vest may have saved the police officer's life.
